Wilmslow Winter Wonderland

Planning for the Christmas period including activities and events during this important period for retailers has been ongoing during November. The BID has been working with Wilmslow Town Council to deliver the light switch on event taking place on Saturday 19th November. The BID will also be providing additional funding for further enhancements and activities for Wilmslow’s Winter Wonderland. This will see the installation of a temporary synthetic ice on Bank Square, housed under a clear span marquee with festoon lighting and PA system, over the weekend of the 9th – 11th December.

There will be shows, performances and street entertainment alongside the ice rink and some celebrity guests to encourage people to remain in town and explore the amazing shops, bars and restaurants across the BID area. The ice rink sold out in record time so we have been working to increase the size of both the marquee and the rink to maximise attendance and visitors at this crucial time.

12 days of Christmas starts on 13th December working with Wilmslow Parish to deliver a range of free and paid for festive activities for all the family across town. There will be wreath making, gingerbread decorating, carol singing, cookie making and the return of the Christmas tree festival.
