Cheshire & Warrington Combined Authority Update New Interim Chief Executive The Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority has announced that Nick Walkley, former Chief Executive of Homes England, has been proposed as the first Interim Chief Executive of the newly established Combined Authority.
The Shadow Board is due to consider approving the appointment on Thursday 30th January, with formal approval expected to follow when the Combined Authority officially launches in March 2026.
✅ What this means for Cheshire and Warrington Nick’s role will be key as the region moves towards the Combined Authority launch in March and the first Mayoral election in May 2027. The work will focus on setting up governance, partnerships, and delivery plans for the region’s long term Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Strategy, with over £650 million of funding expected over the next 30 years.
