Wilmslow’s Coronation celebrations confirmed
We are pleased to release details of plans to help local residents celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III in May.
On Sunday 7th May from 12pm – 4pm, there will be a big community Coronation celebration in Bank Square and the surrounding areas. Road closures have been arranged to provide a safe space for families and friends to relax and enjoy the day, with music, entertainment, family activities, community group stalls and seating.
Activities and entertainment will include Punch and Judy, Crazy Golf, crafts and funfair-style games with events spanning across Bank Square, Grove Street, Green Lane and Hawthorn Lane. The community celebration is being organised by Wilmslow Town Council in partnership with Wilmslow’s BID, in association with the nationwide ‘Coronation Big Lunch’ initiative.
Wilmslow Town Council is also delighted to offer grants of £50 to help groups of Wilmslow residents to organise local neighbourhood community events to celebrate the Coronation.
The grants are for street parties taking place between 6th – 8th May 2023, to purchase items such as bunting, tablecloths, paper plates, hats and signage.
There are 50 grants available in total, allocated on a first come, first served basis. The closing date for applications will be 6th April 2023. The full Coronation Grant scheme criteria and application form can be found at: The Coronation of King Charles III | Wilmslow Town Council
